April Art Exhibit : Impressions of Oakland - Photographs by Anita Gay
Artist : Anita Gay
Opening Reception: April 3rd, 2009 6-9pm
The photos in this show were taken in Oakland, with a Holga - a plastic camera (with a plastic lens) that uses 120mm-format film. The use of a plastic lens results in images that are somewhat abstract, which reflects how the mind tends remember the landscapes we move through. This collection of colorful photographs represents a declaration of love from Anita to Oakland, her home for the past decade.
Anita Gay is a shy yet enthusiastic photographer who in her earlier years enjoyed living in & traveling to countries around the world, but has of late resided in lovely Oakland, California. She spends her time taking photographs, working in the Bay Area’s most awesome photo store (Looking Glass Photo), and dreaming of future travel adventures.
